With all this rain, I felt the need to add some kick to my life. As the rain falls and we are all quarantined inside, the want to light my mouth on fire with tacos came about. Spicy Shrimp Tacos at Joey D’s hit the spot. As my other colleagues at P2W stay inside not writing articles, the Tipsy Taco Tuesday train keeps on rolling! Let’s dive in!
Taco Review Time:
Ingredients – Shrimp, Olive Oil, 1 tsp paprikia, 2 tsp cayenne pepper, 1 tsp ground cumin, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, salt and pepper
Slaw – Grab some slaw, chopped up cilantro, peeled carrots, lime juice freshly squeezed (1 lime), chopped jalapeno (some seeds) and honey.
Sauce – mayo and hot sauce mixed together
As you can see, these tacos were stacked to the moon with shrimp and slaw. After taking a bite, my mouth was on fire. The cayenne pepper, as always, kicked my ass. The honey from the slaw really stuck out, as I had never mixed honey with slaw before. I would put more honey (1/2 tbsp) the next time I make these. The sweetness of the honey, combined with the heat from the sauce and shrimp taco was something you ache for. These tacos were dripping with juices. Make these ASAP – 8.1/10
Drink Review Time:
Syrah Spanish 2017 Red – Alazules. The quarantine has not made me classy, but the wine I tried was an attempt to change that. I’ll be quick and easy with this drink review; I like red wine, I did not like this. Have you ever taken a bite of bark from a tree? Ya, me either, but that’s what I imagined it would taste like, mixed with fermented grapes. Do not spend 20 dollars on this bottle of wine and leave it at the store. I sucked at Spanish class, just like this wine 3.9/10.
The tacos absolutely get the Tipsy Taco Tuesday stamp of approval. There are rumors that these reviews might be changing in the near future. Maybe some videos, maybe a whole new site?! Who knows! The possibilities are endless.Just like saying LeBron James is better than MJ, say no to hardshells. #nohardshells
